Don’t try this at home!

After the Triathalon on Saturday morning we had peeps over for a BBQ and some soda pops. We ‘premiered’ a new way to enjoy sausage – recommended by a co-worker, Caity.

Get this: instead of a conventional bun, or even a FANCY bun like the ‘Italiano’ ones, Caity shared the idea of buying the cheesy breadsticks from the bakery part of the grocery store and slicing them.
OH MY GOD! SOOOOOOO GOOOD! We were remarking all evening how surprised we were that we made it to our 30′s without thinking of it ourselves. Better late than never! Part of me wishes that I never knew about it though, I’m sure they’ll be responsible for shortening my life by at least 2 months per link….
Bon apetit!

Zen Kitchen

I photographed ‘Zen Kitchen’, a trendy, all-natural, organic vegetarian joint on Somerset St this week with Eric for their website through SiteBenefits. Man-o-man, I am a total carnivore, but these dishes not only looked good, they smelled AMAZING!!!

The series is here. I think it’s be best restaurant set I’ve done so far – hopefully they’re happy with them. The fact that the food was gorgeous didn’t hurt, either!

If you want to book a reservation, purchase gift certificates, or simply check out their site, click here.:-)

A wet Triathalon

Addie & Eric competed in the Gatineau Triathalon this Saturday – what a great (but wet) morning! They both did very well, finishing their respective races (Addie competed in the “Try-a-Tri”, and Eric in the longer “Sprint” event.

Eric was very strong in the swim, emerging from the water 5th or 6th overall, before being passed by scores on faster bicycles in the wet weather. Addie was happy to complete the swim without being eaten by any giant sea creatures, and went on to complete it with an impressive 4th fastest in her event in the running segment. The weather gods were not smiling that day, it absolutely poured. The 26th annual Hope Beach volleyball tournament was cancelled for the first time in it’s history due to the incliment weather.
We wrapped-up the day with a great BBQ – to celebrate both of their first attempts at a Triathalon format race.

Mac & Me

I love this picture of Melinda & Mac playing on the beach. Mac just couldn’t get enough of the beach when she visited PEI. When she wasn’t breaking through Bob & Valerie’s screen door, she was chasing sticks, eating gross dead crabs, or swimming. It wasn’t surprising to hear from Melinda that she slept almost the entire 5hr drive back to Halifax!

There are quite a few of them that I like, but this is another one of my favs from that day.
Edit: By popular demand I have added a picture of Mac – for context….what a cute pup she is!!

Home for a rest

Rolled in this morning at 8:30am, after a 14hr drive home from PEI. We spent the last 10 days on the East Coast with Eric & Sabrina – visiting my sister in Halifax and Addie’s folks in North Lake, PEI. Lots of fun, but happy to be back home where I can get to bed at a decent hour and not wake up with a headache every morning.;)

Will get some pictures up after I’ve had more sleep and had a chance to do some edits and sort through them. I took 743 exposures, so it won’t be a quick sort.
