Well, today was the 5th annual “tree-triming” (fake tree) at “Rancho Relaxo”. We had a bit of a fiasco trying to get the sets of lights to work – something must have happened over the summer that made them now no longer work reliably. After driving around most of the city trying to find lights 2 weeks before Christmas, I did finally find some, however I was disappointed to find out that the ONLY options available it seems are LED. I get that they’re much more efficient, but man….they’re just not quite the same.
Anyway…we managed to get the tree lighted and decorated, including the ornament pictured above that was given to me by a couple of co-workers right before I left to get married in December 2002. It’s one of my favorites, although we have MANY unique and sentimental ornaments on our tree – from around the world. I think what I like about it the most is that not only am I the one driving, but I look completely calm while Addie looks like she’s scared silly!

Melinda did the cermonial topping of the tree by placing Conky where he belongs, and where he can oversee our festivities throughout the holidays! Next year (at “Nuevo Rancho Relaxo”), we’re going to actually throw him in the wetlands near our new house and retrieve him in the fall – just like the real thing!![]()
VIDEO WARNING: This is an excerpt from Showcase’s “Trailer Park Boys”, so there is a lot of cursing. Conky enters around 1:20. Enjoy!
I picked up my sister, Mo, this afternoon for her annual trip from Halifax to help decorate our Christmas tree. Sabrina came over as well, to do Xmas baking with Addie – wow, they really baked up a storm!! They made shortbreads, spice cookies, chocolate peanut butter balls (picured above), and sucre a creme.

Today marks 7 years since Addie and I were married on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. We had an incredible time, sharing a week in the sun with close friends and family, followed by a second ‘honeymoon’ week by ourselves.
