Lucas & Tina : Married! Ottawa R.A. Centre Wedding

Lucas & Tina’s wedding was really different for me.  Firstly, because they are great friends of mine, and secondly because I was only shooting part of the wedding.  It was important to them that I was able to put the camera down and have fun & enjoy the party, so they hired the great folks at Green Tea Photography to photograph the reception.  Lucas and Tina are a seriously awesome couple, some of my absolute favorite people to hang out with.  They are a ton of fun, they don’t take anything any more seriously than they have to, and I tried to get a lot of that amazing spirit in their photos.

I met them at the R.A. Centre a little before the ceremony to do some family & bridal party photos, and it had to have been some of the craziest weather Ottawa saw in 2012.  The skies would open up and bucket-down rain, then 5 minutes later it would be clear.  Repeat.  Repeat.  With this unpredictable weather, and the party so nicely dressed, we didn’t venture farther than 20 feet from the entrance of the R.A. Centre…I think we still managed to get some great shots.  The menacing skies in the “epic groomsmen” shot at the end actually add to the dramatic look quite well…gotta embrace whatever you’re given in this business.

  • Sam - Can’t imaginable the pressure of being a photographer then a guest but judging by the photos I think you handle it very well.

The portraits are fantastic and more importantly IMHO you caught some key emotional moments, such as the 3rd image as an example.ReplyCancel

  • Paul Krol - Sweet work capturing those real moments between this Bride and Groom. And I love that last shot. Always awesome to have dark dramatic skies as a background for some epic portraits!ReplyCancel

  • ryan - Those are really gorgeous portraits, Christian! I’m sure the bride and groom will love the way you captured their wedding day for years to come.ReplyCancel

  • Dale Lempa - Wonderfully smooth tones in the color pictures, and freshness in the black and whites. The ominous skies DO accent that groomsmen shot very well.ReplyCancel

  • Jared Tseng - Love that last images. Also really enjoy their celebratory gestures after their vows! Great captures!ReplyCancel

  • Francine Kingsley - Hi Christian, Awsesome pictures !! Came across these while looking at the RA Centre website.
