Old Ottawa South Engagement : Amanda + Brad

When I was first contacted by Amanda last August, she said she was looking for a photographer for her wedding, which was going to take place September 2015.  Wait…what?  That would be over 2 years away!  This was even before my daughter’s 2nd birthday, and Kate would be 4, and attending Jr. Kindergarten when the wedding takes place.

It took me a while to wrap my head around that, but when we met for a beer to chat about their plans, it all made perfect sense. Amanda is finishing her school program in Architecture, and didn’t want to get married while still in the middle of studying, so they took advantage of the time to plan.  It sounds like their wedding is going to be very cool, and very personal…I won’t go into any details they shared, in case all/some of it is a surprise…but I’ll just say that I’m really excited to see it all come together.

Whenever planning engagement pictures in Ottawa, I always try to find somewhere I hadn’t shot before, and look to the couple for interesting ideas, or locations that are meaningful to them.  Amanda + Brad chose Old Ottawa South.  This is a really cool part of the city, and an area that means a lot to both of them.  Amanda lived here when the first started dating, and many of their first dates were along this part of Bank St.  In case you can’t tell by the photos, we had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs.  🙂ottawa south photos-0001ottawa south photos-0003
