The last time I saw Jan and Mike, it was in the middle of winter, and it was to meet for a beer to discuss their wedding plans, at their favourite pub in Aylmer, Quebec where they will be hosting the big day.  The snow was so deep that I was worried I wouldn’t make it to the meeting on time.  Hard to think-back to those days now that summer is here.

Fast forward to today, and it could not have been a nicer early summer evening.  We had a great time in Hintonburg around the iconic “City Center” complex, where Jan often visits ‘Euro-Sports’, who support their tandem bicycle needs.  We had a great time, and I think we got some cool photos!

I’m really excited for Jan & Mike’s wedding, especially because it reflects so much of themselves, as individuals and as a couple.  Jan (literally) runs an incredible charity called Won with One, where they enable blind or physically challenged people to compete in triathlons, through equipment and guiding.  Check them out!   Music is also a big passion for both of them (Mike used to play in a band), and music is going to be a big part of the wedding’s theme.   They’ve arranged to have a great band, it will be hosted at a neat pub in Aylmer, and will feature a poutine truck.  I’m in!

It had almost been a year since I first met with Cassandra and Eric to talk about their wedding this coming August.  I probably focused too much on my excitement that Eric’s full name is Eric Murphy (I’m an Entourage fan), and shockingly they still decided to hire me…he is even OK with being called “E”.  Awesome!

For their engagement shoot, we met-up on a gorgeous Sunday evening in the parking lot of Eric’s work on Carling Avenue near Preston St., and took a stroll through the park by Dow’s lake, taking advantage of the great fruit tree blossoms and the last of the tulips in the Nation’s Capital.  Once the sun started going down, we took a quick jaunt down Preston St., where we got some cool photos that incorporated the really great vibe in Little Italy.

Wow, what a way to kick off the 2014 summer wedding season!  Precia + Salim were married over the Victoria Day weekend at Orchard View, in Manotick Station, just South of Ottawa.

It was a bit cool, but an otherwise gorgeous day on this long weekend, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful.  Orchard View wedding, gorgeous ceremony, incredible food (including some of Salim’s mom’s home-made Lebanese pastries), and a wild party…what more could you want on a wedding day?  Oh yeah…Asian lanterns and fireworks, too.
