David and Carine are getting married late this winter in beautiful Mont Tremblant.  Usually, I would think that a mid-march wedding might be a bit on the warm side, but I recall being at Mont Tremblant this year in April, and it was still so cold that some of the runs were CLOSED because of the wind chill.  Oh, Canada…  On a similar theme, this session was mid-October, and we got a bit of a freak snowfall for a few minutes – as you kind-of see in one of the photos.

For their engagement shoot, we met at the Moulin Wakefield, and just hiked around the area  looking for nice light.  Wakefield is such a great little town, it’s not hard to find almost sickeningly nice spots for photos.

I feel like Amanda + Brad are almost family at this point.  You see, Amanda first contacted me about being their photographer back in July 2013.  That is almost TWO AND A HALF YEARS AGO!  At the time, my daughter, Kate, wasn’t even two years old, and I was thinking to myself “Wow, Kate will be in Kindergarten when this wedding actually takes place”.

To say that Amanda is a thorough planner would be a gross understatement.  Not only had she begun the wedding plans more than two full years in advance, but she also had an entire 3D rendering of their reception hall setup of the Marshes.  Unreal.  Don’t believe me?  Check it out:

Like…even the beams…even the light fixtures…even the linens, decor…all exactly as they were in real life.  I was blown away.

Amanda and Brad are that perfect Ying & Yang couple, who balance each other out beautifully.  Amanda is and architect, and Brad is a numbers guy.  They are so fantastic together, they ooze great energy, and it shows in their photos.  I dare you to not smile as you look at them.

Their Marshes Golf Club wedding day was one of those rare, totally rainy days, but we somehow lucked-out and it stopped pouring just long enough to get some photos at the Ornamental Gardens in Ottawa’s Central Experimental Farm, between their ceremony at Divine Infant Parish in Orleans, and their reception at the Marshes Golf Club in Kanata.  It was a crazy fun day…enjoy!

When Sarah first contacted me last winter to talk about her upcoming wedding to her fiancé, Geoff, who is a Priest…I was a little taken-aback.  Being raised Roman Catholic, this concept was very foreign!  Geoff is an Anglican Priest, and he and Sarah met at the archdiocese in Montreal, where she worked.  Their beautiful ceremony was performed by none other than Geoff’s father, Bishop John Chapman.  Very, very cool.

After the ceremony, they had a gorgeous reception at Brasseurs du Temps in Gatineau Quebec.  The food was absolutely unreal (I had the chicken & waffles…drool!), and the party was crazy fun.  Not only did I not know about Brasseurs du Temps before this wedding, but I also didn’t know that there were canals in Gatineau!  I was happy that Sarah + Geoff let me steal them away from the party for a few minutes to grab some cool night photos on the bridge over the canal.  I’ll definitely be back to BdT for some more of that incredible food.

Congratulations, Sarah & Geoff, and thanks for having me along.  Cheers to a lifetime of happiness together!
